Results of the 18th National Packaging Design Student Competition Announced

The results of the 18^th National Packaging Design Student Competition 2022, organized by ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association with the contributions of Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair and in cooperation with Reed TÜYAP, have been announced. Among the 56 student projects, 17 projects qualified for the finals in the competition. In addition to the projects that won the first three places in the competition, honorable mention and certificate awards will be announced on the opening day of the Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair on October 12, 2022.

This year's finalists of the Packaging Design National Student Competition, which aims to enable students studying in the field of design in Türkiye to head for the field of packaging design, have been announced. In the evaluation carried out by the Selection Committee meeting, which was held online and lasted for 2 days, 17 projects among the 56 student projects that applied to the competition were qualified for the finals. In addition to the awards of the top three finalists, honorable mention and certificate awards will be given on the opening day of Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair on October 12, 2022, which is one of the biggest gatherings of the packaging industry. In addition, the top three students in the competition will be entitled to receive a 12-month non-refundable ASD & TÜYAP Scholarship throughout their education life, in addition to the monetary award, and the projects will be exhibited in a specially prepared area during the fair.

Students who succeed in the competition will have the chance to participate in WorldStar Student organized by World Packaging Organization (WPO) and AsiaStar Competitions organized by Asian Packaging Federation (APF), and they will be able to compete once again in order to get a world degree in these competitions.

A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS

Stating that they emphasize the importance of design in packaging on every platform and that they want to attract design students to this field, Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir, the President of the ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association, expressed that they were very pleased with the results obtained in previous years. Stating that the successful projects of the previous year were placed in the top three in WorldStar Student and received a Silver Award and two students were awarded with honorable mentions, Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir also reminded that the young designers who successfully represented Türkiye in the Student Category of the AsiaStar Competition won 15 awards.

Noting that the finalists in the Packaging Design National Student Competition have the chance to show themselves in the international arena, Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir added that they expect Türkiye's success in this competition, which is very important for young people, to continue in 2022, as it was the case in previous years.
