WPO Spring Meeting Held in Prague

World Packaging Organization (WPO) 2019 Spring Meeting was held, hosted by SYBA-Czechia Packaging Institute, on 13rd-17th May in Prague, the capital of the Czechia.

The meeting brought together senior representatives of leading packaging companies from 27 countries. During the week of the meetings, the per annum workshops of the WPO Education, Marketing and Sustainability

Committees and the WorldStar 2019 Award Ceremony were held. From many countries, representatives of packaging sector associations exchanged ideas in all these events.

In the meetings where Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, Croatia, Czechia, Finland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lebanon, Republic of South Africa, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, UK, USA also takes place, the current and future studies of WPO were discussed.

Training Workshop was also held under the chair of Aslıhan Arıkan, General Secretary of ASD, who was elected as the WPO Vice President of Education in charge for the period 2018-2020. Aslıhan Arıkan who carried out her portfolio presentation at the WorldStar 2019 Award Ceremony presented awards to the students who were awarded the WPO WorldStar Student Competition as well. WPO coordinates English "Packaging Technology Trainings” for 4-5 days in countries that requested training under its sponsorship.
