Applications for the 'Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition', organized by the Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD), for 2020 started on February 3, 2020. Applications for the Competition, which will be held for the 9thtime this year and will be open until June 5, 2020. The Competition, which is indicated to be one of the most prestigious awards organized in Turkey also accepts applications from abroad as of 2015 and rewards unique packaging designs, different and innovative packaging applications that made their mark in the industry worldwide. Packaging manufacturers & suppliers, packaging designers and brand owners releasing their products to the market can participate in Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition under the following categories:
1. Food
2. Beverages
3. Electronic and Electrical Supplies
4. Healthcare and Cosmetic Products
5. Household Products - Automotive Parts - Office Equipment and Supplies
6. Packaging for Other Non-food Products
7. Medical and Pharmaceutical Products
8. Industrial and Transportation Packaging
9. Packaging Materials and Components
10. POS Display, Presentation and Storage Products
11. Flexible Packaging
12. Graphic Design
13. Luxury Packaging
The achievements of packages that win the Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition are registered with the 'Gold, Silver, Bronze and Competency Awards'. Among the products eligible for the 'Gold Award', a maximum of three 'Gold Packaging Awards' are awarded in cooperation with the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE).
All winners of the Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition accredited by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and the Asian Packaging Federation (APF) can also take part in the WorldStar and AsiaStar Competitions. The awards of winners of Crescents and Stars for Packaging 2020 Contest will be given at a special Gala Night in a 5-star hotel in Istanbul in September / October.
