17th National Packaging Design Student Competition Finalists Announced

The finalists of the 17th National Packaging Design Student Competition 2021, organized by the ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association with the contribution of Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair and in cooperation with Reed TÜYAP, have been announced. Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir President of ASD, said; “Last year, 16 student projects that ranked in the 16th National Packaging Design Student Competition competed in WorldStar Student and won a total of 19 different awards. For this year, as well, we trust the vision of our young designers and support them completely.” 

The final projects of the 17th National Packaging Design Student Competition 2021, organized by the ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association with the contribution of Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair and in cooperation with Reed TÜYAP, have been announced. 92 student projects from Graphic and Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Industrial Product Design and Industrial Design departments of 18 different universities applied to the competition, which is organized to enable students studying design in Turkey to head for the field of packaging design. After evaluation at the Selection Committee meeting, which was held online and lasted for 2 days, and attended by 11 jury members, 18 projects qualified for the finals.

Honorable mention and certificate of recognition awards of the projects that rank among the top three in the competition will be announced on the opening day of the Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair on October 20, 2021. The first will receive 6.000 TL, the second 4.000 TL and the third 3.000 TL. Three students who receive honorable mention will be rewarded with 1.500 TL. In addition, the top three students in the competition are entitled to receive a 12-month non-refundable ASD & TÜYAP Scholarship throughout their education life, in addition to the monetary award, while the projects will be exhibited in an exclusively prepared area during the fair.

Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir, President of ASD, evaluated the results as; “Our students who are successful in our competition have the chance to participate in WorldStar Student organized by WPO-World Packaging Organization and AsiaStar Competitions organized by APF-Asian Packaging Federation, and they can compete again in order to get a world degree in these competitions. 16 student projects that ranked in the 16^th National Packaging Design Student Competition last year competed in WorldStar Student, which is organized annually by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and they won 1 Gold award, 1 Bronze award, 1 Marketing Gold award, 1 Marketing Bronze award, 1 Sustainability Silver award and 4 Honorable Mention awards. In addition, the certificate award of the competition went to 10 Turkish projects, and a total of 19 awards went to Turkey. We are definitely sure that the same success will continue this year. We trust the vision of our young designers and support them completely.”
