2021 WorldStar Packaging Awards open for entry

The global packaging competition is the most prestigious in the world.

July 2020 - WPO (World Packaging Organisation – www.worldpackaging.org) announced that the entries for WorldStar Packaging Awards are now open and the closing date is 19 October, 2020. "We encourage every WPO member across the globe to help us promote the largest and most important global packaging award”, alerts Pierre Pienaar, President of WPO.

Packages eligible for WorldStar are those that have already received a national award recognised by WPO. "In its 53rd year, WorldStar is one of the major events of WPO and last year attracted over 300 entries from 36 countries around the globe. As always, our aim for the next competition is to increase the number of entries and countries participating”, adds Pienaar.

The dates´ schedule to the 2021 edition of WorldStar Packaging Awards are:

19 October, 2020 - Closing date for entries which will be judged in South Africa, the week commencing 23 November, 2020.
15 December, 2020 - Results will be announced.
May 2021 - Awards Presentations and Gala Evening, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

European Parliament Members Adopt New EU Carbon Removal Certification Scheme

The new European Union Carbon Certification System, developed to assess the effectiveness, transparency, and sustainability of carbon reduction projects and various technologies removing carbon from the atmosphere, was approved by the European Parliament in April 2024. This certification scheme aims to bolster the EU's efforts to meet its carbon emission reduction targets. It includes a comprehensive audit and certification process that covers all participants and stakeholders from the start to the end of carbon reduction projects.

WPO - World Packaging Organization announced 2024 winners of WorldStar that is accepted as one of the most prestigious global packaging competitions organized since 1970. 435 entries from 41 countries applied at the competition that received a higher number of applications compared to last year.

1st Study Visit of DEEP Project held in Belgium and the Netherlands!

The scope of the “Technical Assistance for Assessment of Türkiye's Potential on Transition to Circular Economy” (DEEP) Project that prepares the roadmap for Türkiye's transition to a circular economy; the first study visit was held in the Netherlands and Belgium between 28 November and 2 December 2022 to exchange information on ongoing activities and practices related to the circular economy in the context of resource and waste management in EU countries.

WPO Announces the Winners of WorldStar 2022 in Milan

After two years of online ceremonies, May 4 2022, around 300 packaging professionals, representing 37countries, were together to celebrate the winners of WorldStar Award 2022.

APF's 2022 Strategic Planning Meeting Performed Online

The 7th APF Asian Packaging Federation's Strategic Planning Meeting was performed via Zoom Application on 18th April 2022. There were attendees in total from 11 countries in Asia continent, namely: Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Turkey.

18 Awards to Turkey in AsiaStar

Winners of the AsiaStar 2021 Competition where the best packaging in Asia compete are announced. In AsiaStar 2021 where 132 packaging from 14 countries compete, Turkey won a total of 18 awards.

ASD Packaging Academy Continues Training Online

World Design Challenge on Sustainable Packaging Attracts
