WPO Sustaining 2019 Packaging Technology Training Programs

World Packaging Organisation (WPO) sustains settled the WPO's 2019 training agenda on Packaging Technology amongst the WPO member organisations. The purpose of those training courses is to increase and develop professional knowledge and competency of packaging industries´ employees, other professionals in related industries and also university students.

The first training of 2019 had been organized in Amman / Jordan on March 3 – 7, 2019. The second and third trainings of 2019 have been organized in Nairobi / Kenya and Beirut / Lebanon respectively.

The 2nd WPO packaging technology training titled as "Introduction to Packaging Technology” was organized in Nairobi / Kenya on 29 July – 3 August 2019 by the contribution of the WPO full member Institute of Packaging Professionals Kenya (IOPPK) with support from local government, in the venue called KILIMO HOUSE MOA of the Department of Agriculture, Government of Nairobi, Kenya. The English training got attraction of 31 students. The support of WPO in sub-Saharan Africa training programs will continue by the year 2020.

The 3rd international packaging training course offered by WPO and supported by the LibanPack, took place in Beirut, Lebanon from September 10 – 12, 2019, is the first time in Lebanon. The course was attended by 20 participants from the leading packaging companies in Lebanon. It was reported that the training was very successful and highly interactive.

The remaining approved programs for 2019 will be took place according to the following agenda:

  • ABRE & WPO Packaging Technology Training in Brazil in October,
  • IRIP & WPO Packaging Design and Technology Training in Iran in October,
  • IPF & WPO Packaging Technology Training in Bali/Indonesia on 30 Oct – 2 Nov 2019.

Some new education initiatives are being discussed and planned in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central & South Americas, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

The future potential training programs will be:

  • Packaging Technology
  • Food Packaging Technology,
  • Advanced Packaging Technology
  • Packaging Graphics & Design,
  • Quality Management Subjects.
