Applications of WorldStar Awards 2018 Has Begun

Application process of WorldStar Awards 2018 organized by World Packaging Organization (WPO) started. Results of the competition, to which the companies awarded in the Crescent and Stars of Packaging Competition organized by Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD) can apply, will be announced in November.

Applications of WorldStar Awards 2018, which is organized by World Packaging Organization (WPO) and is one of the most important competitions of packaging industry in the international arena has begun. There are several different categories in the competition, including Beverages, Electronics, Food, Health & Personal Care, Household, Labelling and Decoration, Luxury, Medical & Pharmaceutical, Packaging Materials & Components, Point of Sale, Transit and Other.

President's Award, Marketing Award and Sustainability Award like Special Awards and also Packaging That Saves Food and Lifetime Achievement Awards will be handed out to the winners during the competition. Companies with their products awarded in the last year's Crescent and Stars of Competition of ASD can apply to the competition on www.worldstar.org website. Last application date of WorldStar 2018 for those who didn't participate in WorldStar 2016 is October 6 ^th.

Mr. Zeki Saribekir, the President of Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD), underlined that Turkish Packaging Industry maintains a strong pace in global competition and focuses on added value through competitions like WorldStar and said, "As Turkish Packaging Manufacturers, who very much value R&D and innovation, we focus on improving ourselves to carry our industry one step further. As a result, we are crowned with many awards from national and international platforms. Eleven Turkish products won several awards in this year's WorldStar and I am confident that we will again receive many awards from WorldStar 2018. I want to wish good luck to all our member companies participating in the competition.”

This year, 11 products from Turkey won awards from WorldStar 2017. A total of 194 products from 35 countries competed in the contest. Turkey was represented by the companies awarded in Crescent and Stars of Packaging Competition which is organized by ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association.
